DAV College, Amritsar, organised its 66th Annual Convocation with great pride and solemnity at the college campus on April 6, 2025. The event was graced by the presence of eminent dignitaries like Cabinet Minister for Power and Energy, Govt. of Punjab, S. Harbhajan Singh ETO, who was the Chief Guest and is also an alumnus of the college and Dr. Pooja Vyas, Director (A&F), ICPR, New Delhi, who was the Guest of Honour.
The convocation ceremony commenced with a traditional academic procession followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and the recital of the DAV Anthem, setting an auspicious tone for the event.
The Principal of DAV College, Dr Amardeep Gupta, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the institution’s rich legacy of academic excellence, holistic development, and its unwavering commitment to value-based education. He congratulated the graduates and postgraduates and made them aware of the achievements and accomplishments of the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour. He urged the passouts to never give up in life and to keep striving for excellence in all their pursuits. He encouraged the graduating students to carry forward the ethos of DAV College and continue to make the institution proud through their future endeavors.
The Chief Guest for the occasion, S. Harbhajan Singh ETO, addressed the gathering with an inspiring convocation speech, urging the graduates to embrace challenges, uphold ethical values, and contribute meaningfully to society. In his motivational address, the Chief Guest emphasized the importance of innovation, resilience, and lifelong learning in today’s dynamic world.
While sharing his experience at the college as a student, he acknowledged the contribution of his teachers and the college. He deemed it a matter of honour to be the chief guest of the convocation of the college from where he received his degree.
Mrs. Pooja Vyas, while addressing the graduates and postgraduates, applauded and conveyed her best wishes to them. She added that education does not cease after getting a degree. It is rather a way of life. “The values and experiences gained so forth, should be imbibed into your lifestyles. Your education must add value to the society.”
On this occasion, Principal along with the dignitaries released the college annual magazine ‘Indradhanush”.
The ceremony concluded with the national anthem and a vote of thanks by Dr. Neeraj Gupta, Secretary, the Staff Council. The function was graced by the presence of Mrs. Suhinder Kaur, esteemed wife of the Power Minister S. Harbhajan Singh ETO, all the worthy Office-Bearers of the college, and the staff members––teaching and non-teaching.
