As per the directions of Satinder Singh DIG Border Range and SSP Rural Amritsar Charanjit Singh, rural police led by Harinder Singh has achieved success in arresting two drug smugglers. Ajnala police was checking vehicles at Adda Mahal Bukhari when two persons were seen coming from Ajnala on a motorcycle. On seeing the police party, they tried to run away and the police party also chased them. During this, Harman Singh son of Dalbir Singh resident of Baba Bakala was arrested with 2 kg heroin, 1 lakh 40 thousand drug money and a Splendor motorcycle number PB 02 C 8035. While his other accomplice Shamsher Singh alias Shera son of Kulwinder Singh resident of Baba Bakala managed to escape. Police has registered a case and started investigation. While in another case, Mehta Police arrested Harpreet Singh alias Rinku son of Balakar Singh resident of Mirpur Fatehgarh Sahib from Mod Khabbe Rajputan with 3 kg 650 grams of opium and a Swift car number PB 05 AB 8908. Police is investigating the forward and backward links in both the cases. Strict action will be taken against whoever is found involved.
